The Best Ham Sandwich...Evah!!

#tcot #hhrs #wwrd
Forget the Reagan-era $1000 hammers and toilets seats, and you can even forget Obama's $100/lb Waygu beef.

We have a new winner when it comes to Government waste, and it might even go to your waist....

The Obama-approved $595,000/lb Frozen Ham!!!

Here is a little proof from the government's own website, Recovery.gov, before it goes down the memory hole:

I sure hope we aren't buying these in bulk. I think I can get a better deal at COSTCO....

UPDATE: HOLY SCHNIKIES! The hits keep coming....

$1,562,568 FOR 'MOZZARELLA CHEESE'
$5,708,260 FOR 'PROCESS CHEESE'

[Hat Tip: Drudge, he is the one who dug these up...]

UPDATE II: Welcome Instapundit readers!

Vernon, California, huh?

That's the tiny town where the (indicted) former City Administrator is pulling down $499,000 a year on his city pension.

I guess $500k-per-pound ham makes about as much sense as that.

From Drudge:

RECOVERY.GOV // AWARDED: $16,784,272 FOR 'CANNED PORK'...

Is that Spam?

Three cheers for Spam!

I have some ham that I'd like to sell to the government...

I doubt that 2lbs is the number of units. It's probably something like a few hundred thousand 2lb units of sliced ham. The cheese items suggest that, since they include no numbers at all.

At least they used fixed-price bid...imagine if it had been cost-plus!

Whether or not the 2 pounds is regarding quantity, the fundamental questions remains: Just what the hell is money borrowed from our kids doing buying ham, cheese, and friggin' spam? And how the hell does that lead to "economic recovery"?

The freak show in D.C. just keeps getting better by the day.

It's for food banks. You know, where poor people go when they can't eat. Ha ha, suckers! It's so wasteful to feed people who are too poor to buy food. They should fend for themselves and if they can't because they got laid off, then tough luck! Only the strong survive! USA #1!!!

Reality check: you don't use TWO POUND portions in food banks and soup kitchens!

Ya totally! Dosesn't everybody know food banks by law only accept individual slices of ham, not two pound packs???? And why should we feed the poors HAM when dog food is equally nutritious and can be had at cost??? And why feed the poors in the first place??? Jindal for president!

I completely agree to what Montagne Mointaigne has said. It is a commonly known fact that food banks by law only accept individual slices of ham, not two pound packs.
